AFM NG
As a result of 35 years of Reseach & Development, AFM® (Activated Filter Media) is a direct replacement for sand that can be installed in all types of sand filters without modifications. Manufactured from green and brown glass, AFM® is exposed to a unique activation process to become self-sterilizing and acquire superior mechanical & electro-static filtration performance.
Gravel
Gravel helps support the laterals from the weight of the sand. Will filter out the sand from the water before reaching the lateral system.
Gravel also helps eliminate anaerobic bacteria from forming underneath the lateral system and provides a more open area for a smoother flow of water after it has passed through the sand.
